Short Fiction Month #2- Ringing Telephone

I slightly cheated and wrote this last night during an unexpected 3am editing frenzy. So sue me.

‘Okay, we’re nearly there. We just need to cut one more wire and we’re in.’

Gary’s hand hovered over the blue wire, his clammy fingers gripping the pliers.

The shrill tones of an iPhone cut through the air. Girlfriend calling; he was late for dinner.

He cut the red wire.

BombBit of a silly one today. Tomorrow I may well go with a horror theme, given the news that my hero Anthony Horowitz is in town soon and I HAVE TICKETS WOOHOO.
